Why Visit?

You promised yourself you'd provide your children with a well-rounded religious education when they were old enough . . .

You told yourself you'd make time for a spiritual life when you found a church that didn't require you to believe things you could not . . .

You said you'd like to be part of a religious community that welcomes you for who you are . . . and gives you an opportunity to help make the world a better place.

What about now?

It's easy to stay home rather than go to church. But there are a lot of important reasons to attend the Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver:

To teach your children your values: Church is fun, educational and inspirational. At UUCV we help children learn how to think for themselves about religion, ethics and living responsibly in the world. We offer guidance to help face the dilemmas and choices of their everyday lives. We affirm children and youth for who they are and help them become the people they want to be. We teach them that religion should be based on love, not on fear. We create a safe place for fun and affirmation.

To deepen your own faith: Being part of UUCV can help you deepen your faith in ways that individual study or meditation cannot. Participation in a religious community can energize you through contact with others. You will be challenged by ideas you might not have thought of on your own. You will be invited to look more deeply into your beliefs. And with so much distress in the world, our church community can bring solace. It can provide inspiration that lifts your soul.

For Social Action: UUCV is a place where you can find people who share a commitment to social justice and who wish to make the world a better place. You'll be invited to roll up your sleeves and help mend a world that needs your touch.

For Friendship: UUCV is a place to find companionship. We strive to be a supportive community that cares in times of stress and celebrates in times of joy.
